Mothering an adult son

i thought when they were just kids that someday when my sons will be in their teens it would be easier to deal with them and less mothering job. i was wrong, it was even more difficult than they were toddlers.
Now, you cannot bring them to church,  they have their own preference.  most often times they hang out with their friends and stay late out at night.  they seem to know better than their mom.  At times, i feel hopeless in trying to impose house rules.
